Allergy can be viewed as classical behavioral neuro-associative conditioned stress reactions, stored as neural shock. In this model allergic reactions can be eradicated by breaking up these adaptive conditioned responses.
When we’re exposed to a stress and a chemical together a neuro-associative conditioning linking one to the other occurs, as with the bell sound inducing Pavlov’s dogs to salivate, even in the absence of any food, and is locked in place by the adaptive shock reaction to the original stressor.
